WRTE is a word unscrambling game played across 8 rounds in 7 languages: English, German, Spanish (Mainland and Mexican), French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian, and Japanese. You pick a language on the title screen and can switch at any time from the bar at the top, resetting to round 1 in the new language.

Each round gives you a set of scrambled letter tiles. Click them to build words, click a filled slot to remove a letter, or use the keyboard; type letters directly, Backspace to undo, Enter to submit. You need at least 3 letters to submit. Every round has a hidden word list; scoring is based on word length, with longer words worth more. Finding the target word (the one that uses all the letters) ends the round immediately.

Three-round modes rotate as you progress. Free mode gives you unlimited time to find as many words as you can. Timed mode starts a countdown of 35 to 45 seconds, depending on the round, and ends when the clock hits zero. Chain mode requires every word you submit to share at least 2 letters with the previous word you found, forcing you to plan instead of just firing off whatever comes to mind.

A streak multiplier kicks in after 3 correct words in a row, adding a 50% bonus to each subsequent word's score. You have 3 lives shared across the whole game; every invalid word costs one, and losing all three ends the run. A hint button reveals the starting letter and length of an unfound word at the cost of 20 points.

Sounds play on every action: a two-tone ding for a correct word, a three-note fanfare for the target word, a descending buzz for wrong answers, a rising chime when a round is cleared, and three low thuds for failure.
